SPOTSYLVANIA WE NEED YOUR HELP

A very small group of your neighbors have been passionately fighting against the Valley Link Joshua Falls-Yeats project. We’ve developed and promoted our website and Facebook group. We’ve attended board meetings in Spotsylvania, Louisa, Orange, and Culpeper counties.  It's time for Spotsylvania to make some noise!

EXCITING NEWS - the Shirley Road Community Action Group will be holding a meeting!  Please follow our Facebook page for updates.

Valley Link’s open houses and landowner conversations have been information gathering to help them determine the path of least resistance.

The proposed blue line is going though our area and will impact approximately 35 parcels . If the alternate route is finalized (and we believe there is a pretty good chance of this happening since Orange is fighting tooth and nail and Spotsy is barely breathing) the line will be running through 3.94 miles of Spotsylvania County! The 200’ buffer corridor, will consume 95 acres. Add in a one mile impact zone – 2,522 acres. This is land that will change forever.

It is a well-known fact that this 765kV line will be the “spine” of a massive power grid. (And just in case you haven’t heard, this line will only be providing power to the data centers in Northern Virginia.)  At the recent Richardsville meeting,  Michael Regan explained it brilliantly -  “there will be ribs coming off of this spine”. Our future will be met with more substations, more power lines, and more data centers.

If we remain silent until the final route is published in late May/June, it will be too late.

We stand in full support and unity with our neighboring counties. Please join us and fight before it is too late. The time to be heard is NOW. Engage on our Facebook page, talk with your neighbors, write your legislators.
